Public speaking stage fright can get in the way of people developing into effective presenters. It can make them feel sick, give them the shakes etc.
It is learned response and because of this it can be beaten. In fact many people have and become confident presenters.
Here are 4 ways to cope with the stress and anxiety:
1. Being thoroughly prepared and well practiced helps to build self confidence
2. Meet your audience. Show a genuine interest in them. Presenting to people you know is easier than to complete strangers.
3. Before you start to speak, pause for a short while. Take a few deep breaths to relax and calm the butterfly feeling in your stomach.
4. Smile at the audience and you will feel better, and your audience may smile back at you
